During Milano Jewelry Week, the Italian brand will kick off the celebrations for its 60th anniversary, reliving the company's journey from 1963 to today.
The long history of De Liguoro began back in 1963 thanks to an idea by Gianni De Liguoro and his wife Angela Locatelli, who decided to found the firm DELI in Milan. Their goal was to create small beauty accessories using various materials, leveraging the skills Gianni refined during his studies at the Brera Academy, and above all, the great creativity that has always characterized his personality.
Bolstered by the numerous famous collaborations that De Liguoro has established with many "Made in Italy" brands, the Maison's history is studded with great successes that have allowed the company to establish itself internationally.
The brand's consecration took place within its first year, when, thanks to its sculptural ability, DELI began a fruitful collaboration with the Italian detergent company Mira Lanza. They created a gadget destined to go down in history: the keychain featuring Calimero, the black chick designed by the Pagot brothers and Ignazio Colnaghi, and immortalized by the legendary "Carosello" TV show.
The encounter with high fashion occurred in the last two decades of the last century, beginning with the collaboration between Gianni and the Italian designer Clara Centinaro—who at the time was showing alongside the great couturiers of Alta Moda Roma—and synergies with some of the most refined and elegant brands in the Italian scene, including Alberta Ferretti, Renato Balestra, Rocco Barocco, Fausto Sarli, Enzo Russo, Trussardi, Gai Mattiolo, and Cavalli. These partnerships caused the brand's popularity to explode; during those years, it reached the haute couture runways and many prime-time Rai and Mediaset programs, and with its stunning crowns, it adorned the heads of the winners of the well-known Miss Italia pageant.
The Italian brand's success, however, is due above all to the great expertise and reputation the company has earned over the years, and to the passion that Gianni De Liguoro has always had for his work and the world of Fashion Jewellery.
